![]() ![]() Units spawned in Bandit camps and Necromantic circles will only take your city if the structure that spawned them, is in a certain distance to it. Scouting the surroundings of your capital is extremely important. That way you save a bit of movement as the stack normally moves at the pace of the slowest unit. The infantry will stay put, but all units will still fight in the battle. Instead send your most useless unit to scout.įinal tip: If you have a stack with some cavalry and some infantry, you can move next to a mine, select ONLY the cavalry unit, and have it attack the mine. As Reality said, you should not use the cavalry as your scout as they're almost always stronger than your other starting units. ![]() (Always befriend your starting race.) So on turn 1 I do sometimes head out in all directions to scout, and then join up again in turn 2.Īlso note: you usually start with 1 stack of units, 1 extra hero, and 1 cavalry unit. That said, I have 1 exception: you usually start near a second city of your own race, and I want to find that city on turn 1 so I can befriend them. So in the long term you will actually clear more sites You suffer less damage and take fewer losses even in easy fights You don't need to spend time joining the stacks up again if you meet tougher opposition You can take on stronger sites earlier. You could try splitting up your starting units for faster clearing, but I suggest you don't. Prepare sites for building cities and forts Gain more experience and get stronger faster (but do try to get more scouts fast, scouting IS important.) I suggest using 1 or 2 units as scouts and to keep most of your best units together to clear sites. ![]()
